JOB OPENING: PhD Position: Phase diagrams and functional responses of ferroelectric solid-solutions
The new Emmy-Noether group Scale-bridging computational design of multifunctional ferroelectric composites at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Advanced Materials Simulations (ICAMS) offers a PhD (m/f/d) position (3 years, 29.87 h) in the project “Phase diagrams and functional responses of ferroelectric solid-solutions”.
The project is part of an interdisciplinary international collaboration and a research stay in Canada is possible.
If the position is funded by third-party funds the employee has no teaching obligation.
In addition to the scientific questions, the focus is on application and development of first-principles based methods.
- a master or diploma in physics/chemistry/materials science or similar
- experience in modelling of materials on the atomistic and/or microstructure level
- excellent English skills
- ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team
- programming skills in Python, C, C++ or Fortran and the use of Mathematica are desirable
