What Master 2.0 means:

“Master 2.0” is the quality seal of the Ruhr-Universität for master’s degrees that optimally prepare their students for a career in science. Master 2.0 students work in interdisciplinary teams of scientists right at the forefront of research. They make international contacts and gain experience abroad. In this way they are primed for the international scientific community.

Overall, there are nine degrees at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, and its students get the chance to

  • have a direct entry into the world of research: Starting early with networking will make it easier to succeed in an academic career.
  • undertake interdisciplinary work – discover neighbouring subject: The interdisciplinary approach is a living tradition at the Ruhr-Universität – which is also favoured by its compact campus where humanities, natural sciences, engineering and medicine are all just a five minute walk apart.
  • be part of the global community: Students of the Master 2.0 degree programmes work together with foreign guest researchers and spend part of their study period abroad.
