Co-base super alloys database, a mixed approach: experiments, first-principles and modelling

The development of the new co-base superalloys is taking profit of a knowledged based tools whic were not available when the Ni-bases alloys were developed. The combination of DFT and recent development in experimental techniques related to alloy characterization makes the task of Calphad modelling quite more refined improving as never was possible before, the construction of multicomponent databases. In this lecture this methodology is illustrated.
