Atomistic methods for calculation of micromagnetic parameters

The purpose of this work is the elucidation of the relationship between the microstructure and the magnetic properties of electrical steel (Fe-Si) sheets for electrical motors. The relevant parameters for the micromagnetic model will be calculated with atomistic techniques (DFT and TB), where extended defects (like dislocations and grain boundaries) are taken into account. The micromagnetic calculations will be subsequently tested and compared with experimental data.
