After a brief introduction on the modelling of thermal fluctuations in the Lattice Boltzmann method for nonideal fluids, I will show that the obtained method correctly reproduces the expected universal Ising-type static critical behavior characteristic for a liquid-vapor phase transition. Finite-size scaling methods well known from Monte Carlo simulations are adapted to the present fluid model, taking into account the global conservation of the order parameter. Finally, a brief outlook to the simulation of dynamic critical problems with the Lattice Boltzmann method will be given.
