Lattice-Boltzmann simulation of Gray-Scott model with inhomogeneous reaction rates: Towards applications in vegetation pattern formation

M. Pouya

Master Thesis, Ruhr-University Bochum, (2011)

Download: BibTEX

The effect of inhomogeneous reaction rates in the Gray-Scott model is studied using the Lattice Botzmann Method. The inhomogeneity of reaction rates in the Gray-Scott model gives rise to spacial dependence of the pattern formation, depending on the geometry, szie and initial conditions of the simulation box. This promotes special formation of new patterns that is not provided in the case of homogenous reaction rates in the model.
