Using the time differential perturbed angular correlation technique the electric field gradient of 111Cd in the In sites of the intermetallic compound in In5Bi3Q = 33.1 (1) MHz and zero asymmetry parameter η. The temperature dependence of the electric field gradient does not follow the T3/2 law, but shows a striking linear behaviour.
